We know that pacing is at the center of performance. That finding ways to not only improve technique and ability but also to drive swimmers to gain efficiencies in pacing is critical for race day.

We designed NOME to provide individual interactive cues and data that allow swimmers to stay in their headspace and focus on technique instead of a pace clock, and to train in a motivating and interactive way.

Our goal is for the swimmer to FEEL the pacing intrinsically instead of having to constantly check the clock or hear sounds. They can simply “follow the lights” to stay on their desired pace while training.

Martinez has founded three companies and have over 12 years of multi-sport marketing and publishing experience. At Trinsik Sports, he heads up executive management and is responsible for strategic partnership development, fundraising and overall company direction.

Martinez received his B.B.A. from St. Edwards University in Austin, which recruited him from his home of Caracas, Venezuela, on a baseball scholarship. He is currently working on his master degree from Syracuse University. He lives in Austin and is an avid runner, and triathlete.

Benito R. Fernandez, Ph. D.

Chief Technology Officer

A renowned engineer, Dr. Fernández heads up technology development for TrinsikSports.
He received BS degrees in chemical (1979) and materials (1981) engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar and MS (1985) and PhD (1988) degrees in mechanical engineering from MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Dr. Fernandez joined the mechanical engineering faculty of The University of Texas in 1990.
He founded the Advanced Mechatronics Laboratory (AML) in 1994 and is founder and director of the Neuro-Engineering Research and Developing Laboratory (NERDlab,1990). He has five issued patents and two pending patents, as well as numerous IP disclosures. His areas of expertise include advanced mechatronics, machinery health assurance, advanced control systems, resilient IoT devices and secure cyber-physical systems.

Larry Upton is also a start-up specialist and multi-sport enthusiast. He manages TrinsikSports’ go-to-market and strategic partnerships. Larry is COO of BASE Performance, Inc. and Managing Director of WorldWerx, LLC, a global business development consultancy. Larry has over thirty years of start-up experience and has enjoyed two successful exits: Dantz Development to EMC and MessageOne to Dell.
